End-User Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 14 July 2026 · These terms govern your use of Plaka for Students
Plaka for Students (“Plaka”, “the service”, “we”, “us”) is a personal budgeting service by
ERAS Business Management (“ERAS DEV”). By creating an account or using Plaka, you agree
to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. Who may use Plaka
- Plaka is intended for students from the Dutch Caribbean (Aruba, Curaçao,
Sint Maarten and the BES islands) living in or connected to the Netherlands.
- You must be at least 16 years old. You confirm both of these when you register.
- You may only create an account for yourself, and you are responsible for keeping your
password confidential and for all activity on your account.
2. What Plaka is — and is not
- Plaka is a manual budgeting tool: you enter your own transactions, budgets, wallets
and savings goals. Plaka never connects to your bank and never moves real money.
- Currency conversions use a daily EUR/USD reference rate from the European Central Bank;
island currencies are treated as pegged to the US dollar. Converted amounts are
indicative and may differ from the rate your bank applies.
- Budget tips from the coach are generic, rule-based suggestions. Nothing in Plaka is
financial, tax, or legal advice. You remain responsible for your own financial decisions.
3. Free trial, subscription and prices
- Every new account starts with a 7-day free trial with full access. No payment
details are needed for the trial.
- After the trial, a paid subscription is required: € 1,99 for your first 30 days,
then € 12,99 for the rest of your first year, and € 24,99 per year after that.
All prices include 21% Dutch VAT (BTW).
- Payments are processed securely by our payment partner Whop. We never see or store
your card details.
- The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- If prices change, the new prices apply only from your next renewal, and we will inform
you in the app beforehand.
4. Cancelling and right of withdrawal
- You can cancel at any time in Settings. You keep full access until the end of the
period you already paid for; no further charges follow.
- If you are a consumer in the EU, you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal
after starting a paid subscription. By starting the subscription you ask us to provide the
service immediately; if you withdraw within 14 days, you are refunded minus a proportional
amount for the days already used. To exercise this right, email
privacy@erasdev.com.
5. Fair use
You agree not to misuse the service. In particular you will not:
- attempt to access other users' data or interfere with the security of the service;
- use Plaka for unlawful purposes, or upload unlawful or offensive content;
- copy, resell, scrape, reverse-engineer or overload the service.
We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly violate these terms, after
warning you where reasonably possible.
6. Your data
How we handle your personal data is described in our
Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. Your
budget data belongs to you: you can edit or delete it at any time, and you can request a copy
or full deletion of your account data.
7. Availability and changes to the service
- We aim to keep Plaka available at all times, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted,
error-free operation. Maintenance, updates or outages beyond our control may temporarily
limit access.
- We may improve or change features over time. If a change substantially reduces the
service you pay for, you may cancel and receive a proportional refund of any prepaid,
unused period.
8. Liability
- Plaka is a budgeting aid. We are not liable for financial decisions you make based on
the numbers, conversions or tips shown in the app.
- To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim connected to the
service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including
liability for intent or gross negligence, or your statutory consumer rights.
9. Intellectual property
Plaka, its design, name and software remain the property of ERAS Business Management.
You receive a personal, non-transferable right to use the service for your own budgeting
while your account is active.
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Dutch law. Mandatory consumer protection rules of your
country of residence always remain applicable. Disputes will be submitted to the competent
Dutch court, unless the law requires otherwise. You can also use the European Commission's
online dispute resolution platform (ec.europa.eu/odr).
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If a change materially affects you, we will
announce it in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Plaka after the change means
you accept the updated terms; if you do not, you may cancel as described above.
